Cycle2Work

The Cycle2Work Program is largely a partnership program that is designed to work with large business parks & corporate houses. This program includes facilitating the 'Fence sitters' by equipping them with the requisite facilities like Cycle stands, Road Identity cards, Personal Accident Insurance at a nominal rate and other incentive schemes offered by the HR team.

The Program aims to achieve a slow but steady change in behavior and in creating a steadily growing community of cyclists that would impress upon the authorities the need for defining non-motorised transportation oriented policies. It also seeks to redefine corporate sector policies through a commitment to participating in creating a cycling friendly infrastructure through dedication of space and design for cycle parking for their employees and companies around them.

A group of Cycling Trainers is established for beginners and coaching is available on call. They also play a role in hand holding and supporting new riders wherein they share their experiences and join them for their office commute at marked origin and destination points. Every Cycle2Work participant is profiled by SCF bringing out his or her cycling stories and how they got hooked onto cycling with Origin, Destination, Distance and Place of work. Each of these profiles are posted on social platforms which becomes an inspiration for others to follow. The initiative engages with cyclists by incentivising them regularly, felicitating them on a Quarterly basis and bringing them together in an Annual Meet held on June 5th every year to celebrate The World Environment Day.

Earth Day is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. The beauty of the earth matches the beauty in one's soul.

A small step towards our first Corporate Engagement Programme designed for hand holding employees to #Cycle2Work was made possible by this gutsy lady Susheela Rao who led this initiative within her organisation Gilbarco Veeder-Root. We planned this engagement meticulously keeping Road Safety at utmost importance for each employee.
