Me Cycle Rider
Me Cycle Rider (MCR) is designed for the urban poor, especially underprivileged women & children in our communities with an aim to encourage & empower them to chase their dreams. They largely reside in slums & often live a life in the shadow of the Urban rich. Through ‘Personal Mobility’, they get the freedom to move, socialize, learn, explore, deliberate & grow holistically. SCF believes in sustainable & inclusive growth of society & a ‘Bicycle’ works as a catalyst of growth for the lesser privileged who face Transport Poverty.
With Me Cycle Rider - our intent is to empower them using cycling as a mobility tool for progress and also impart skill development to support their daily livelihood.
In order to achieve the above objectives & to create an impact, Me Cycle Rider program primarily works towards giving new or used bicycles to underprivileged - either sponsored by a brand, crowd funding or through Social Responsibilities (CSR) engagement with the corporate sector.
As an extension of this outreach program, we also give the necessary opportunity, basic skills & required infrastructure to make them independent income generators for themselves & their families.
We plan to start a food truck with local fresh/healthy produce which will cater to a population within a radius of 5kms. Most importantly the truck will be operated by these women & the deliveries will be done by them on bicycles.
Through Me Cycle Rider program, we believe in giving back to society and spreading the joy of cycling and building a culture of inclusiveness. Humble bicycles, we believe, contributes towards the larger sustainable development goals of women empowerment, climate change, environment, health & wellness, inclusivity and financial freedom.
